I reset the gap between the brake pedal and master cylinder to 3mm , rebuilt the calliper with new seals etc and bled the system with the calliper raised , the original fluid in the calliper looked opaque so maybe had moisture in it, all good now, repeated braking and subsequent checking shows the disc cooling not getting hot as I ride so hopefully I won’t get a repeat!
