1260 Rear Brakes

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Widow79, Sep 5, 2018.

  1. My 1260 rear brake is fine so far but my Monster 1200 rear brake pedal has lots of travel until I trigger the rear wheel abs several times which seems to be where most of the air is trapped.
Somewhat a bit of an enigma because they have the same M50's. I just bought a Mityvac vacuum pump to make the job easier and will attack the issue in the spring.

  2. Apparently Sintered Brembo pads are only recommended for use with stainless steel discs. Is the rear disc on the 1200 DVT S/1260 S made of stainless steel or machined cast (that would rust)?

  3. its stainless steel, laser cut from sheet. They are not forged or cast.
OE Disks are made by Brembo, but have a different composition to the Brembo Serie Oro disks, which have a greater coefficient of friction.
