  1. Just noticed the cable tie on stantion, if your ride has dropped that low be careful, its very close to a bottom out, did you purposely go over pot holes?
where the outer gold colour joins the bottom joint to the caliper bracket it is about 10-15mm higher inside the stantion where it bottoms out

  2. Yeah the cable tie was there so I can see if it was bottoming. It got there after riding the roughest roads I know, hitting bumps whilst braking etc so I hope I have it correct. I'm gonna keep the tools with me for the next few days just in case I need to tweak anything.

  3. Should I increase preload a little?

  4. Dave Moss is an interesting watch, very informative. What else do you do at Protyre aside from tyres then? I'll pop in.

  5. For m/c's it tyres, chains & sprockets, brakes, and then light servicing, a new bike bay is currently being fitted with all new machinery and we will also do bike mots and with that then increase the motorcycle servicing offered.
Officially I cannot change your suspension settings at work as work stuff need to be qualified to do the job and this is an area we will be moving into, jhs has most of Bristol work so I will hit him hard with Olin's trying etc,
    Cars, well everything,
Me, I spent the last 6 months researching suspension and the art of setting it up, I have set three of my own bikes and a few friends and asked them to take to specialist to get a basic setup check, only a couple needed minor tweaks, all I need to do is a basic Olin's sus course and I'm qualified!!!

  6. I would probably just do 1/4 turn clockwise,
Have you adjusted the rear ride height rod yet? That has a very dramatic effect on the handling, sharper, quicker to respond, but there is a safety limit, its in carl salters book,
I have raised mine, first time far too much, had a bit of fun should I say, trouble is if you change rod height then you start again with preload etc!

  7. Fair play. Mr JHS does need some local competition, perhaps then he will understand that it is not his expertise that gets him his return business, or his amazing personality, its because he is the only local business offering this. Yeah, hit him where it hurts, James could do with a reality check!

  8. OK will increase by a 1/4 turn. I have set the rear shock but not increase ride height yet. I was thinking about doing it the other way and changing the fork fork angle.

    What do you reckon?

  9. Rear ride hieght first if still not quick turning enough then drop forks through yokes, I've never done fork angle cause both below recommendation say to unstable for road,
Check out avantiraceparts, look down left menu for suspension setup, also search for "section8" they give some pretty extreme setting you may like, you need to probably take all season with just three different setups to se what was right for you
