Bupa are paying for mine, which is the main reason i told the GP i wanted to be referred for an MRI when he offered an Xray. Xrays cant see soft tissue damage. I have had an MRI on the other Knee for a cartlidge tear. I genuinly do not understand what all the fuss is about with these scanners. I know that when they first came on the market they used to be called Nuclear magnetic resonance machines. The " nuclear " got dropped but they are the same technology. people are just freaked out by the word. Thanks for the recommendation of Dr Briggs, i think he is on my Bupa options list. The Spire certainly is
If you no luck with Dr Briggs then consider Prof Haddad, you won't regret it. Do a search on him, top man.
Dr Briggs did ops on both my knees, one knee twice in fact so 3 ops. He modestly told me he was the best but no quibbles from me as all ops and recovery went well. A big bonus in Harpenden is the chance to eat at Godfrey`s fish and chip shop after all consultations, a proper sit down fish and chip shop and the best scampi I have ever tasted. Lovely grilled halloumi too. Slightly off topic but important info.
Made an appointment to see the fish and chip shop at the end of the month, so i will be able to drop in on professor briggs while i'm there. Serously, i've got an app't on 27th.
