Just received a reneawal quote from Ducati insurance for my Scrambler Icon (2016): from £251/year for full comprehensive to £488 for third party only. the previous underwriter was no prepared to offer renewal terms apparently.... A joke. The bike has bike-trac installed and my NCD is 8y.
Insurance is all about your "personal circumstances", Your riding history/the cc capacity,plus the value of the machine and any claims that have been made or outstanding.a good zip code always helps
Got an email from MCN compare who I bought my current policy with. Its due for renewal this month and they offered me a policy with a different company for a few quid more than last years policy. The next slightly more expensive was with my current insurer on their comparison site. I suspected that as the comparison site gets a higher commission for "new business ", they want you to change companies. I phoned my current insurance policy to ask if they had sent out my renewal notice ; which they say is in the post, and the premium is 10% lower than last year. Which tells me that as its a renewal and not new business, where they would have to pay a higher commission; they have passed on the savings to me in the hope of keeping my business: which they will. However if you have never used MCN Compare site, I do recommend it , as I found that they were the cheapest of the comparison sites.
Little lady went to renew with MCC yesterday went from 550 to 800 on phone - checked on line quoted 583 - guy on phone just said buy it on line then Same info - made no sense but got it insured so never mind
Just got my renewal from Wicked insurance £295 for the 1199s. Quick 10 mins on a comparison site... £135 with BeMoto. Not had it that low since I had my 999 on a classic policy.
No, insurance is all about extracting as much money as fucken possible... It's a scam that needs reigning in...

Just received mine from Ducati Insurance (of last year: Ramasis). Now called Wicked Quotes and stating ‘Specialist Ducati Insurance for 15 years’ 2002 R1 2009 1098R Bayliss 55 yrs old with full no claims. Fully comp and protected no claims: £230 Don’t think I’ll bother shopping around
