Something's wrong.... those temps are way low.... and you shouldn't have to blank the radiator. Mines 2010 with mivv pipe and decat, runs a bit rough at 3,000-3,500 rpm which is annoying. Think my average temp is in the 80-90's and fan kicks in at 105... I think?
Yea i know, but spoke to ducati service manager yesterday and he told me thats right and Ducati only supply 1 stat for our bikes and the deavile? so i asked does that mean nomatter where in the world the bike is getting sold it gets the same stat? yes!! my mate who as we speak is touring southern europe on a 2017 strada runs the same temps as me! here. i'll catch up with him when he gets back. if you check through some of the posts you'll find the temps im getting are the norm? strange as the warm up enrichment only knocks off inthe low 70's, no fuckin wonder they all run black tail pipe's and swig petrol, All my pals who have these bikes are expeiencing the same probs, but we are all old, mid 50's and all work in the motor trade and know how stuff works...........
My twin spark runs between around the 65 - 75 mark most of the time. But if they are running a fuel map that makes the mixture richer they should be running cooler. But it's always been pretty smooth, I only really need to clutch in sub 15mph, otherwise it would chug along okay.
I have a 996 and 1098 they don't chug! lug what ever so i'll repeat yet again! what did Ducati know 15'20yrs ago they don't know now?? also running rich only cools the combustion temps not the engine running temps!
Urm, pretty certain the engine temp is related to the combustion temp , the heat from that has to go somewhere and part of that somewhere is into the metal of the engine block and cylinder heads. By chug I meant that there's enough load that you can start to feel the rotation of the engine. Mine will pull along on idle if necessary (9mph), but it's better to have a little clutch to smooth that out, and slow down further if necessary. Anyhow 20 years ago certainly emission requirements were very different, so perhaps it's not what they don't know, it's what they can't do anymore.
I asked if anyone had got a rexxer map with the same spec bike as mine, and what it was like? i didn't get a responce to that, what i got was pricks like you who jump on posts to air how clever they are! and try to prove other people wrong, not to try and be helpfull. so with that i'll bid you all a good bye. its sorted now and would have shared what i have found out as to the problem with this model, but that willl only open the flood gates for more i know more than you shit so see ya.
