I was sat next to him at a lunch At Silverstone, we had a great time , totally down to earth and I had absolutely no idea who he was until afterwards when I was asked if I had a nice time being next to Chris.

And so great respect and RIP.

He won't be driving home this Christmas and I hope he is not on the road to hell!

 

According to the news, he was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer at the age of 33. That he lived to 74 is astonishing. RIP. Andy

 

Sad news.

There’s an episode of Mortimer and WHitehouse fishing where he shows up at the pub (Christmas special). As he goes to leave one of them asks if he’s driving home - he just gives them the finger and walks off!!!

IIRC he also did a bit of F1 pit crew work?
