  3. Murder is a bit strong, I'd be more upset if a dog got run over.

  4. RIP John Virgo

A huge talent both on and off the snooker table. Hope you find many 147 up there.

  6. Once saw him do a demonstration at my local snooker club; lovely guy who did absolutely fantastic impersonations of some of his fellow players and some superb trick shots. RIP John, and thanks for the memories.

  7. Agree - saw him at Walton Snooker Club by sheer chance once, joking with many onlookers. Seemed like a decent bloke, his impressions were good for breaking up the tension during tournaments i remember.

  8. Sadly, no characters like that in today’s game. RIP. Andy

  13. tis a shame, his commentary was top notch, the snooker is the only thing i watch on the BBC
Him, Hendry, Davis and the fella with the upside down glasses were excellent

he had been ill for a while, his throat was very swollen for the last couple of years

  14. I used to watch it but the stars of today, while great players, are for the most part devoid of personality compared with those of Virgo's day.

  15. agree ^ isn't this starting to be true of all sports, and possibly people in general? Deep down I think we all know the answer, I'm not saying I could sum it up in a sentence easily though.

  16. Hendry goes to my gym. Keeps himself to himself mostly, but appreciates my sense of humour!

  18. So are you. Humour not your thang?

  19. Quite saddened by JV’s passing. Absolute legend from my younger days when snooker clubs were still a thing and you don’t hear many people say a bad word about him. RIP x
