  1. well to start with they / he kicked out the american backed regime, they then repelled the american backed "bay of pigs" invasion, they then kicked the arse of the 20m$ per anm which america poured into anti government movements for the last 40 years with endless / countless assisination attempts,,,,,,, not bad eh ?

  2. and funnily enough probably the only country i would contemplate a plane journey to visit.
    must of been all those Humphrey Gokart movies.

  3. Plenty of other tremendous socialist achievements too

    He caused extreme poverty;
    Made the maximum wage $20;
    He outlawed labour unions;
    Pressed torture and concentration camps for gays;
    Thousands of political executions;
    People are forbidden to leave; always a hallmark of paradise
    A healthcare system in ruins;
    State control and massive censorship;
    Widespread imprisonment of journalists who don't toe the party line;
    A dictatorship with no free elections;
    He sent mercenaries to Africa
    The state exploits doctors sent abroad to rob them of the hard currency they earn

    What a man, and now his brother runs the show? Maybe some you naive bedsit revolutionaries should take a secondment in socialist paradise and come back to update us after that? No, thought not, far easier to spout shite from a safe and prosperous western democracy

  6. The indisputable truth. A 10 day package holiday, insulated from all the realities and horrors of grinding poverty.
    It really is just the same as living there

  11. gross exageration, maybe the kind of spin put on it by some of the previous regime and their buddies / families who were ousted and lost a lot of money.

  12. Previous regime? Hadn't he been there since the 60's? Think all the previous were dead by the 70's

  13. And there we have it. My two favourite forum trolls. Thread closed.

  14. Just heard on Newsnight. Andrew Sachs has died at the age of 86.
    "Misser Fawlty, he go ker-azy!"
    Many more talents than playing Spanish waiters but he still created one of the funniest supporting comedy characters of all time.
