The property owners need to put the rent down, or they can keep it high until they go bust and the next guy who takes it over will do so instead. Then the councils could make parking free. There's other reasons for the decline of course but these two would be sensible ways for the property owners & the town councils to make some money.
Just put my youngest to bed (11) - had him laughing his head off and had to calm him down....as i say - wouldnt have it any other way....
I think the high street will become housing opportunities for councils money to be made in rent It’s an opportunity waiting for something/somebody I don’t know what who or when I never used mothercare it was too expensive when I had my kids My cousin had an outlet at the time and I used her for my pram/car seat cheaper Other stuff, cot was given to me Clothes were from Primark
Shame but things move on, nothing is for ever. I am not a fan of retail, overpriced junk in a lot of cases but these guys pay tax! Anycase fond memories, off to the Doctors...yes positive...off to Mothercare
A lot of what were office blocks in the town centre were I am are being converted into single persons flats and bedsits. The first industrial revolution was created by the owners and cost hundreds of thousands their jobs. The second industrial revolution, online shopping, is being driven by the customers themselves. The loss of traditional stores on the high street seems to be a cost that joe public seem to be okay with as online shopping increases
