Bluetooth devices built into bikes that connects to HUDs in cars/vans/trucks etc that works like the motion sensors in Alien showing there is a bike on its way.
which bit of 'Any ideas' isn't relevant? OK then take responsibility for your own riding.........there you go ....and its free, doesn't need any money...
This was a really close friend of mine. When you get taken out by an off duty special what chance have we got. And she got off with it. Still makes me sick. Special Constable on phone when she collided with biker David Bartholomew (From Bournemouth Echo)
Gawrsh! Thanks for the top tip, Officer Obvious! Have you any more miserable, joyless wisdom for riders? How about cultivating smugness and a misplaced sense of superiority whilst failing to understand what people are getting at, perhaps?
So how come a Special Constable gets off then in the above incident, criminal in itself! Any suggestions from people with big noses or otherwise?
Dont blame you mate.. just looked at that and it makes me mad as hell, i could fucken swear and rave about that all night.. disgusting..... So sorry bout yor mate and for his family
Ok to start with. For those times when it does go wrong, no matter whom/what is to blame: 1. On certain impact criteria an automated beacon is activated showing the last few seconds of ride to paramedics like initial speed and then how big was the deceleration. Position and such. Same system would force a civilian vehicle to stop at scene of accident, no matter if they were involved or not to force people to start helping. 2. Maybe few sensors on bikes and gear to show position of rider and vehicle and their movement in accident. Software would then be able to indicated key areas of focus for paramedics before they even arrive including heart rate monitor and so on. They are now cheap as chips. 3. Signs that do not cut riders and vehicles in half. 4. Mandatory first aid training for all who want to hold any driving licence and legal obligation to stop and help at scene of accident/incident (some countries have it) with harsh legal repercussions if one does not stop. 5. Mandatory first aid kit appropriate to size to vehicle. Even motorbikes could carry something by law (some countries have it). For before accident: 1. More grippy road surface or in general safer road surfaces. 2. Not overusing signs indicating dangerous bends when there is none. Same for speed restrictions. Crying wolf and all that. 3. As mentioned digital way a high mounted cameras that observe blind junctions and relay relative speed and position of approaching vehicles to each other flagging up risk in colour coded way. 4. All vehicles communicate with each other so they all know how close they are to each other and inform driver (done for blind spot in mercs for example or volvo and it's inability to turn in to rider when he is in your blind spot). 5. To escalate on above 3&4 HUD display for both car and bikers to display mentioned data. 6. All vehicles fitted with 360 view camera nad scanners where data form it can be feed to other vehicles. If one indicates he wants to overtake image from car that has best visibility is shown. Imagine approaching blind bend and knowing there is the least no approaching vehicles, or overtaking knowing well ahead road is clear. 7. More futuristic drones with cameras that fallow you round showing you birds eye view ....... armed with lasers ans such for war 8. More visible police officers on the road and less GATSO. 9. Variable speed limit signs on every road. 10. Variable light timing on every junction including pedestrian one with sensors if no pedestrian/car so it never goes red for cars/peds when empty. 11. Id chips for every bicycle so we can ID if it does wrong. Then adding points and insurance claims if they have driving licence or any insurance, house or otherwise. 12. Better trained police officers that do not act like all knowing cocks. All should have cameras recording their every move during intervention and as citizens at time of incident it should be our law to request copy ASAP of footage. If there is no footage whatever other evidence of road offence is not valid. That would make them obey the law just like we have to. 13. Make sure that if authority gets it wrong authority admits to it and apologizes in clear language that indicates nothing more then apology. So it does not allude to well we cocked up this time but next time we will prove you wrong. in that case they should never be allowed to have a final word.
The CPS believed they could not prove that her being on the phone caused the accident. The cops were livid and were desperate to prosecute. Petitions were signed to get the CPS to change their minds and even MPs were involved but she got away with it. Didn't even get 3 points as 6 months had passed.
I avoid Wales and its over zealous anti biking police like the plague. Therefore I feel I am contributing to the safety of the place and its cost them nothing.
