No - only because I've already used this connection for my USB power supply on the handlebars. I've got one of these attached to the GPS power connector and didn't want to disconnect this. So I used the Garmin supplied cable to connect directly to the battery. I was initially thinking it had to be switched (ignition on) power connector - but as I'm not going to leave the satnav on the bike for long periods - I gave up on this idea and just ran it straight to the battery.
