1200 Sena 20s Bluetooth Comms System Installed

  1. Got a sena20s myself & it does a brilliant job of canceling wind noise. People most of the time don't even suspect I'm on my motorbike doing 60+. As the added feature with sena is its ability to connect to other brands of coms systems. It was a great choice imho.

The one issue i have was how it pairs to a zumo 600. Sometimes it would be lovely clarity & other times tinny. Decided in the end to keep sat-nav with ear-plugs & have the sena system installed into the foam ear well's of one of my helmets. Works a treat'

If anyone has the method married up to get quality sound from the zumo660 & phone still blue-toothed fire away how you did it. And i did read & comprehend the manual'

  2. I mix and match. Bluetooth MW-600 headphones and a Bluetooth intercom in helmet. The phone plays music through the headphones but if a call comes in it switches to the helmet (as that's what I press 'answer' on). Because a call has come in, the music from the phone pauses and resumes when I hang up. Also works for satnav.

  3. part of me is wanting to post...."where to we put the tax disc on this model"?

  4. Got a 20S. The first one went back because the radio didn't work properly. The replacement (with a serial number beginning 150) works a bit better but not by much.
It does pair easily with the I phone and the Zumo 350 though.

  5. Just fitted a BT unit, £32.99 delivered from ebay, mainly for satnav instructions and may play music on way to germany as mostly long boring roads

  7. was hoping to try today but not really fit enough still, hacking in your lid isn't a great experience
    Hopefully tomorrow...

  8. I have 4 Sena SMH10 units fitted on all my helmets and the Missus's. Used them for Years and they've been EXCELLENT. Sena does quality kit. I'd like to try the 20 but all my 10's are working too well to justify changing!

  9. Thanks @bradders - I'lll take a look at that.

Sadly I'm working in London this weekend so no riding for me. Roll-on next week though :)

  10. Managed to get out for a bit today. Verdict...

Fit seems ok, I have tried two methods so far: behind the padded check pad and one in front/1 behind ( because I could get it comfy when I stopped and changed it

Behind the padding: with ear plugs ove 40 mph can just hear music to about 70 bit voice not so. So took plugs out, no problem up to 90 could hear google direction clearly enough and music was ok, although frocken noisy as I hate not wearing plugs anyway

So I put the rhs one in front (there onto my ear) and the other stayed put and and ode back woth earplugs in. At 90 you could hear the music enough providing the recording was loud enough and directions were mostly clear, although a couple of times I had to look down. At 60 easy.

I found a couple of issues but suspect its a setting thing. When not playing music, the google directions were so low I couldnt hear them at 40 (first scenario). For some reason, when the mic was in my helmet, the sound was breaking up. Could be something I was doing, but when mic was out it was ok.

The joggle track seemed to work well but couldnt work out how to adjust volume so will be getting instructions out.

Reckon with a proper saynav it would be just the job for occasional use, and as intercom worth a punt.

  11. Ok - at such a cheap price that is good enough for me. I'll take a punt. If the bike-to-bike works we may be able to shout "Coffee", "Beer", "Petrol" and choice obscenities at each other on the Black Forest trip!

  13. I used this on the way up to Heysham for the IOM ferry. I hadn't read the instructions to work out how to pair it with my phone but it has a built in radio which worked well enough. At motorway speeds with ear plugs in it was just loud enough to hear on max volume. After four hours of wearing it the ear phones were getting a little uncomfortable but that is probably down to the helmet (Arai RX-7) and my head shape as much as anything else. All in all not a bad buy for the money.
