The headline selling features are, (finally) IP7* rated waterproof, significant increase in battery life, Harman Kardon 2nd generation speakers and 2 mounting kits supplied so you can just swap the head unit between 2 helmets. Include that with a healthy MCL show 30% discount, why wouldn’t you update your 4 year old 50S ? Well, when you drill down into the detail, you’ll find out that the head unit mounts suppled are not identical to each other. One is supplied with the speakers on a loom that has a discreet socket to plug in a wired microphone/short boom microphone and the second is suppled with an integrated, 6” long boom microphone with a speaker loom that only supports the speakers. I’m not sure I know anyone with a full face helmet who uses a boom mic Come Monday, I will be trying to find out if the integrated boom mic is removable and the speaker/wired mic wiring loom is available separately.
