Do your homework before you attack your pride and joy with a machine polisher, you if you go too heavy or if the pad dries you could burn through the lacquer and paint
If you can ' feel ' the marks with your finger nail buddy they will NOT polish out.....so if you can feel them with your nail don't attempt to remove them or @Rick B said you'll burn through your paint...
Have a look in your area to see if there are any vehicle detailers near you....they will defo do bikes...its all the same meat different gravy....I'd be devastated if you ruined your paint......a pro will achieve a better result.....
