Few years ago i got directed to park in a field by the attendants, came back and they gave everyone a ticket took me a few months to sort out etc and i didn't have to pay, i did read silverstone sold the parking rights? to a private company from that day i thought stuff them.
The trouble is the best way to watch the racing at Silverstone is on the TV, the site is so vast you don't get to see what's really happening as a spectator.
“The 2025 crowd figures then dropped to 40,518 on Sunday and 99,328 over the weekend.” Less than some championship games
The attendance numbers are tragic. Perhaps things would get back to where they used to be if we were able to develop home grown talent. Such bad luck for FQ - not sure if he would have held on as his tyres went off but he is riding the crap out of that Yamaha. Zarco is a hell of a rider as well. Nice to see Bez riding well though - he's a very likeable character. Pecco seems to be making the Ducati look rather ordinary.
We’re probably at the point where you could say it’s only 93 that’s getting anything out of the gp25. Digi’s hardly pulling up trees on the other one.
So something that is generally not talked about is the fact that MM said the GP25 bike was unrideable and went back to the GP24, whereas PB is on the GP25 and trying to collect the data needed to improve it. Whether that is a Ducati decision or his own I don't know but you are not comparing apples with apples when looking at the performance of the two factory riders.
Also, will Ducati go the way of Honda in the past and build the bike around Marquez meaning everyone else will not be able to ride it or will they stick to just designing competitive bikes?
I’m obviously missing something but why were a lot of the stands empty? I was in Luffield this year but looking around there were so many empty stands. Are they refurbishing or is this purely that they are not getting the bookings any longer? That is so sad if that is true. I think most of the people there at the MGP race were gutted for FQ. Great race though.
I’ve never been to Silverstone for the MGP , but looking at it on TV it seems devoid of any kind of atmosphere whatsoever. It appears very expensive also ,and although the track is perfect for good motorcycle racing most viewing areas seem too far back from the action to allow people to get visually involved ? We go to Sepang a fair bit which has a fantastic atmosphere and last year went to Misano , again a brilliant weekend full of excitement. As much as I love the British MotoGP I don’t think I’ll ever be heading there in person.
No British MotoGP rider No really successful MotoGP rider ever Three British MotoGP wins since 1981 -thanks Cal No MotoGP British team No charismatic British MotoGP people associated or known to the UK public Low numbers of people riding motorcycles in the UK -vast majority of those that do are old(er) British Superbikes diverts UK riders (probably due to finances) away from any MotoGP MotoGp coverage on the BBC and UK media generally is virtually non existent
A pretty accurate and sad summary. I know some people will take this as a dig at 93 (arsed) but at the start of both m2 and m3 races, the presenters spent the first twenty minutes blowing smoke up the marquez brothers hoops. Despite having a British rider in m2 and a whole team of them in m3 and the team owner on comms lol. I couldn’t tell you one single thing about Scott Ogden after the weekend and he was sat in the top 4 for most of it.
They have some really interesting stuff going on in moto 3 I want to hear about how Leon Camier’s getting on with the new ghosting tech for M Lav etc… I don’t need to hear about 93s persistent injury problems for the millionth time or how his brother is a “surprise package” (hats off btw never saw that coming). I also think people like Hodgy could be putting a bit more back in the sport than they do, but that’s probably for another day.
