  1. You were on the money after a morning of doing the internet comparison dance its clear they do not think it is great idea to let me loose on any of the 848/1098/1198 family I mean I can't see why :eyes::joy:

Subsequently I worked backwards made through the lineage and it seems my first entry into the Ducati world will be a 748 as this was the entry point where I could get quotes thankfully it was the longing for a 916 from my yoof that had ignited this decision to get my license so I am happy to take it's little brother till they want to let me loose on something bigger

Quotes were from 520 - 670 dependant on max voluntary or no voluntary, fully comp, garaged, no security device, 3000 a year, I will be looking at a tracker/locks and possibly one of the advanced training schemes hopefully for a reduction closer to the time if anyone stumbles across this wondering what I was quoted

  2. Way to go. The 748 is a lovely bike but not for the long in limb. Just when I can get rock bottom insurance on top performance my bottom is full of rocks! enjoy!

  3. Thankfully I'm not long limbed though the suspension might groan, but yes it has been a nice day doing a bit of searching to see what is for sale and researching the bike itself, I have already explained to the Mrs that this will lead to two bikes in the long run which of course can only be a good thing :motorcycleduc::motorcycleduc:

  4. Worth giving Footman James a bell re insurance. A 748 will be a "Classic bike" and they market directly at this segment, consequently having some OK prices. Unless they have changed their set up, you won't get a no claims bonus from one of their policies. However at the end of the year provided there have been no mishaps, many other companies will credit you with a years discount provided you get a letter from Footman James confirming there were no claims made.

  7. Thanks not sure I’m so glad anymore I have now gone down the rabbit hole of S/SP/SPS/R/853 etc but what I can tell you is it will be yellow

  8. Your loving it ,that is all part of the fun ,it took me two years to decide on which bike to buy (1200R Monster )It is so much better to find the one you want ,rather than rushing into a decision .

  9. Yes I cannot lie it’s a very enjoyable experience and thankfully have time to look and wait for the right bike super excited for the day I finally get to ride whatever I buy

  11. Yo Gammons CBT passed ! Braaaaaapp and all that jazz that the yoof say

Also got to have a quick ride on a 600 at the end around the test centre much more confidence inspiring than wobbling my 19 stone fat arse on a 125 booking the DAS this week and hopefully purchasing a zx-7r as I have decided money wise more sensible to hold off on a 748 / 1198 till next later next year

  13. OOOOH a new Dragster, fun fact when I passed my CBT 20 odd years ago my trusty steed pictured earlier was temperamental on delivery so they loaned me one of the old dragsters dumped it within 5 mins of passing in front of the police squeaky bum time in the back of the car whilst they ran my details :)
