  2. Good point, I was thinking the ‘are you a nob test’, although the worst nob didn’t have one, she was ‘kin nightmare. 60 out of 70 staff left in 18 months including me. In the previous ten years we had lost 3.

  3. Blimey - she must have been a cvntosarus.

  4. Still is, I have been gone three years and they are still averaging a turnover rate of 50% a year Have a mate still there who is counting down the days until they retire. I never believed one person could do so much damage before that.

On bike related stuff, I had an advisory for very minor wheel misalignment at the MoT so investigated that today. It seems the swing arm marks are ever so slightly out so I need to get hold of two lengths of box section do it the old school way, unless there is a better way. It can’t more than a millimetre out as no sign on the tyre and feels fine to ride.

  5. Surely exit interviews would have established the cause of attrition as her? Amazing how some people get away with it.

How did the MOT find such a small anomaly?

  6. She ran them, or plain refused to do them, as in my case. How the shareholders haven’t cottoned on and done something is beyond me as the reputation with customers is appalling now as well.

As for the bike, not sure. I guess they did it old school with two bits of angle iron and a mill or two at the back would appear at the front. Or they have something very precise. He did say not to worry but he had to record it. I don’t mind as he is a top bloke and didn’t mention the exhausts which sound like a Lancaster on full throttle.

  7. Incredible that she’s gotten away with it.

And I’ve never heard of MOTs being so thorough but I guess when you get it sorted you’ll have it bang on.

  8. Searching the internet for a Heath Robinson solution to the zero luggage capacity on the Scrambler without going down the route of the (pointless) Ducati pannier framework and bags. Ended up buying a set of 4 marine grade, cranked, anchor plates from a chandlers, which I can attach the Krieger Dry Pack straps to. Fortunately, there are two M10 threaded holes under each seat rail to fix them to. Also making progress with adapting a switched 12v supply to power the satnav and bought a long, double socket arm for the RAM mount that stops the satnav obscuring the speedo. Looks like our Scotland trip is on with the Scrambler, should be a hoot. Andy

  11. Booked a sneaky BH Indy for tomorrow.
There was still spaces due to iffy weather likely. Unusually (for these days) it’s a 3 group day.

  12. She returned home from Baines racing after having a new reg/rec, uprated coils, belts, filters, oil . After obviously not spending enough on her, burnt through £19.51 of BP's finest to return home with the fuel light back on after a booming fantastic time.

  13. It’s a weird one, she seems to have been able to sell herself incredibly well to the few people who could do something and convince them the problems are entirely not her fault. It’s also a very niche market so not many other options locally but that can’t last forever. It didn’t help that she started just before Covid and I think that has been used as an excuse ever since. I genuinely think she is a Psychopath, not the axe wielding murder type, but the utterly devoid of empathy ruthless type. She gave my mate a stage 1 warning for exceeding allowed compassionate leave by a day when his Mum died suddenly even though he had a 100% attendance record for the two years previous and asked for it as unpaid leave. She has a couple of ‘Rottweilers’ she has employed to intimidate staff now and it’s utterly toxic. Sad as for years it was a great place to work but I ended up in a far better place so did me a favour in the long run.

  14. Sounds like NPD with a few rottweilers as flying monkeys.

  15. Took a closer look at the bodywork damage on the 999. I reckon I'll be able to fill the scratches and scrapes and touch it up. I also suspect I can do an acceptable repair on the one damaged mirror - if I decide I prefer the originals to the Ducati Performance pair.

And I did a search for replacement rear flasher lenses (the left one was shattered) and only found clear or smoked. Which would match the Ducati Performance ones at the front, but if I go with the original mirrors I'll need clear lenses for those too. Which I didn't see.

After the episode with the SS shock, noticing how, minor differences aside, it's virtually identical, I wonder if I should replace them on the 999 as a preemptive measure.

I feel the need for insane speed.

  16. I've had to buy replacement rear indicator lenses for my 999 a couple of times in the last couple of years.

The standard ones are surprisingly cheap from Ducati dealers.

  17. Agreed. I’d be glad I got out of there too!

Don’t understand why such behaviour is exhibited let alone tolerated.
