Oh dear. Sorry to hear that, I’ve always had Shoei and the Neotech was going to be purchased very soon. I’ll watch this post intently. Any other Neotech 3 users out there?
Initially I had serious reservations about the grip of the MT60s, but over the last few years I've realised that they're actually not at all bad. The main issue many folks have is longevity of the rear tyre. Not been a problem for me so far, I usually manage to put a decent puncture or two in the rear long before wear is the primary concern. To be fair the roads here are horrendous with all the construction work going on all over the place.
Worn Shoeis for many years, X-Spirit 1,2 and 3, Neotec and the Neotec 2. The Neotec 3 was the logical next step, better visor, larger dark visor and 2nd generation Sena Mesh. All those things were great but IME, it’s no quieter, the X-PSR style visor lock is a PITTA and the micro ratchet is a backward step. Until I finally found a comfortable tension for it, I could push the strap over my chin. Unlike Pete, I still have a local retailer with the Neotec 2 in stock. Andy
Is this just when riding faired bikes? I find that mine works fairly well on the 1260 PP with a Puig Sport screen. I find it a bit fiddly to operate though, maybe a matter of getting used to it. With the visor closed and given that the drafts are non existent in this helmet surely that shows that the pinlock is doing a good job... I got caught in heavy rain on my last significant ride (Wales) and I did notice this, only a little. I may punch some small holes if it becomes a real problem. The previous helmet, a GT Air, had a mash chin curtain and as I always wear a buff this worked well. The solid chin curtain of the Neotec3 likely helps with reducing wind noise though.
The NRC 360 fork indicators snapped when i took my forks off.. very brittle plastic and expensive for what they are. So bought a pair from alchemy parts which hopefully last a bit longer.
@Bumpkin, the Scrambler is as naked as it gets, air flow through the chin vent on my Neotec 3 is pathetic up to 70mph when you can finally feel something. At that speed, on the Neotec 2, you are coping with a gale. Never had any part of the Neotec 2 visor fog up with vents open and any sort of rain ends up collecting in the Neotec 3 jaw piece. Did a quick search on the internet and AI comes up with all the problems I’ve experienced in varying degrees of severity. I was hoping I’d got a pre production duffer, having got one of the first to hit the UK but it’s beginning to appear not. Fingers crossed Shoei listen to the feedback and do something about it. Andy
Admittedly to date I've only have about 1500 miles of use out of mine, all but one ride thus far was dry. I'm happy so far but this may change after my forthcoming tour, we'll see.
Looking good. Would you have bought a neotec 2 in preference to the 3 had one been available in your size?
Hardwired a splat nav mount to the Scrambler. Not much space to run the power lead back to under the seat but got creative with 10mm self adhesive, zip tie blocks bonded to the underside of the tank. Jobs a good’un Andy
Of all the many different styles Ducati have used since 1948, that is the one I like best. 1970s roundcase bevel twins era.
That's the common complaint. I'd love a set of Mutants, but Dunlop here don't have them and are not interested in importing a set for me. May have to look at importing them myself.
heidanau k73 have a similar style of tread but look more like wets, saw a set on a ktm690 they they looked 'the shizzle' as the youth say. K 73 - Heidenau Tires
