Just got back from the open day at Snells and sadly Santa didn't have a suit in my size so I bought a snazzy beanie for the colder months instead. Did see a very nice pair of 5 gloves that they had in my size so I'm going to ask Santa's little helper for those at proper Christmas time. Managed to miss all the bad weather apart from a torrential downpour whilst at Snells. Also ran in to Desmo Dave and had a chat . Andy
Getting the Ducati and Benelli ready for the Italian car and Bike day at the Sharnbrook hotel tomorrow.
I've had the Panigale serviced and a new front tyre put on in readiness for next weekends jaunt to Scotland. The weather has been mixed all day and I got soaked on the way home, as it lashed down in. Biblical proportions. Bike is now clean and polished though. Also rang the car dealership to tell them that the engine management light had come back on. They reckon it's a faulty sensor and now need to order a new one, but the car is good to drive in the meantime. Tonight we are off to a party in poynton, and several of the guys going are trying to work out how we can watch the Italy v Germany match
My day didn't start well! Some bloody Jehovah bible basher kept ringing my doorbell just after 9.00am this morning so I dragged myself out of my wanking cot and answered the door in my Lonsdale boxers and tried to be polite! When she knew I was past saving she left the building but when she closed the outside door the suction slammed my door shut!!! Omg - no keys,no phone and locked out in just my skids!!! A neighbour kindly lent me a couple of Philips screwdrivers and after much panting (no pun int!) and puffing I managed to remove bathroom top window and after a lot of squeezing and bending I stood on a wheelie bin and slid through the tiny window! If I hadn't lost half my 20st plus pork I would still be there???
Picked up some 999 body work and tank. Just need an air compressor, some paint and a crap load of 240 wet and dry.
Last bit of getting done, last layer of wax added, off to Greece now and by the time I get back i'll be ready for my first ride since surgery, ........ Beer, Greek food, Sun, relaxing pool, more beer, then a flight home for a long ride on little red, what a week to wait eh....
Learned of this written question asked by the obnoxious odious Diane Abbott in the House of Commons on Thursday: Diane Abbott: "To ask the Secretary of State for International Development, what steps she has taken to assist people in the Indonesian province of Province of Davao del Norte affected by the drought in that province?" Justine Greening: "There is no province called Davao del Norte in Indonesia."
Fitted a pair of grip puppies to my bike of the moment. Not a particularly easy job to do,I shall have to eat more spinach.I look forward to see if they help.I believe they are quite popular.
Up and out at 0730 this morning for a quick lap of my favourite local route - pick up the B6047 at twyford, through tilton, across the A47 and down through the Langtons to the A6, turn left for the Medbourne road, up past Stoke Dry to Uppingham, then to Oakham, then the back roads through somerby, Burrough and back to Twyford, then across the soar valley and back home for breakfast. Great ride, sunny, empty roads (apart from a handful of bikers with the same idea) and no plod. Divine on the 900ss - ran like a dream. First time out in a new pair of Hood jeans. Just finished mowing the lawn (need to maintain the yang and the yang with Mrs GordonH).
