I know; small mercies and all. Dirty job & rather be out on Pani, but those c/f fuel tanks don’t come cheap
Cleaned the bike and it’s all sparkly now. Downside is I discovered the bracket holding the Termis has snapped. Bugger
They are tasked with getting a new one In the meantime we went for lunch at the Carding Shed………have you ever been? It’s a Mecca for petrol heads Lots of lovely vintage cars and pushbikes on show, as they also restore cars and bikes there too. They used to have a few Ducatis on show but I couldn’t see any motorbikes this time round. http://thecardingshed.co.uk/ and https://www.iksportclassic.com/
Lots of very expensive cars floating out today, i guess the weather was very favorable for showing off.
Ordered the one way inline valve with the understanding it would arrive sometime in December Arrived and fitted this afternoon pre ride out.
Watching the rugby -interesting. Few new names coming in for England-old gaurd making way? Last 20 might be fun -SA pressure….
Mock up afternoon - test fit the single seat and high level cans. Bought the seat unit from ebay - it looked fine in the photos, I assumed the haze on the paint was just lighting etc - no it wasn't - the unit has been rattle can painted. Not a bad job tbh but it will need a respray, the foam which came with it was bolted on ok but didn't fill the gap between the seat unit / tank so got a genuine SL seat pad. Drilled / fitted / sat on. Comfy Offered up the high level cans, bracket is about 5mm out but it gives me a reference for getting one made
Sold the 1098 this afternoon. Sad to see it go, but it’s time to join the tractor boys. RS rather than GS.
