Tried to fix my golf trolley as the button stoped working today and had another go at a homemade anti tip wheel using what I had laying around. Plastic bracket, old wheel and a lump of wood or two as a first attempt
One other part of rearranging the garage to make a proper workshop is buying a suitable bin. So today I did some surfing for such. There are some truly horrendous prices. And perusing the kind of site that sells bins is not a lot of fun on a phone. What I'd prefer is to walk around a shop and see stuff in the flesh (so to speak). But I walked for hours last week looking for places that sell light bulbs - specifically 150w equivalent (for the garage) - and after about three hours I'd only found two places that sell light bulbs. Poundsavers, who only have up to 60w equivalent and John Lewis who has 100w. I've since found you can still buy them in Sainsbury's, but again only up to 60w equivalent. It truly looks like we've all but moved to where you have to buy light bulbs online. A decent selection of bins takes up a lot more space than light bulbs, so I don't suppose there's going to be anywhere around here I can test drive one. What I need is an expert, like some kind of bin consultant. Though I wouldn't know where to look for one these days, since Care in the Community was established. I've always preferred 150w bulbs, so I already had one in the living room. Hardly used because I've got two table lamps and a standard lamp, so I put one of the new bulbs in there and took the really bright one to the garage. It's branded 'Wilco'. Which is where I would have gone straight to if it was still there. Or, a few years ago, Robert Dyas, but they've been gone so long I usually can't remember the name. Of course, that could be because I'm going senile
The council wheelie bin is ideal in all situations. I have an extra one that happened to be at the house and its the "garage" one now. LED lights for the garage. Free to use, cost virtually nothing, mine are 8 years old and are just like new with no fails.
Agree with the LED lights for the garage, we had 2 florescent light units in our garage, pretty shit lighting, we changed it for 2 3' LED strip lights, best change i have made to the house so far, the light quality is fantastic, will try and get pics later with light off and light on These are the lights I bought from Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09975V...=1&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9kZXRhaWw
Lights off One of the two lights on Iirc, you can switch between the light colours, to get different shades, I wanted the brightest setting
+1 for leds. If you can find the LED arrays they are amazing for illuminating the direct work area...like a surgeon's theatre.
I'm cultivating a headache after a late one last night. Oh and me and Doris aren't talking apparently. The silence is deafening
