Drove from Dublin to Limerick, left my motorcycle keys in Dublin so no riding tomorrow unless I hot wire the bike......
That was before I went in...4 hours...plate fitted...arm still feels like belongs to someone else....
Had similar today was picking up the new model Tesla which was delayed a week, on arrival checked car over scratch on seat and rear wheel panel heavily scratched two of them could feel with your finger nail and deep, they polished out most of them but deep ones still showed, i went over to check his polish which was a filling scratch polish which generally means when washed they reappear, i didn't except the car so he went to check stock and said there is two the same speck in Manchester, so i assumed they would transport it down to Essex, No i had to go get it and they give me £100 for my trouble, couldn't get a train for that money plus a day of work, I pointed out all the cars aren't valeted very well, they clean them under the multi story carpark in Bluewater shopping centre which is very dark, The service was utter crap, so now waiting for the ( how was your service today) email, hope there is plenty of space,
I had the choice between being knocked out or a local anaesthetic while having hand surgery. Went for the local and was able to watch all the bits moving around before they sewed it up. Not as much work as you appear to have done though.
Years ago I snapped the ligament off the side of my thumb. Docs wanted to plate it which meant giving up my job as a ski guide for the rich in Tignes. I politely declined and had the ski pole handle fitted to the cast instead. The physio was mostly squeezing a squash ball in my fist once it was healed. Worked really well and have never had any issue.
I won this Oxford 20 / 22mm Chain for £20.00 today, i certainly wouldn't have sold it for that amount of money.
Flew home from the US yesterday. Well, I was sat in a plane, I can’t physically fly, that would be impossible. Sat in the garden most of today, enjoying the nice weather and a bbq, reminiscing about how idiotic most Americans are, when it comes to politics. Was very entertaining though.
Twas only poor ski bums in Tignes back then surely, all the real money was in ValD'Isere? Glad I had the chance to spend a lot of time skiing when it was affordable, great times.
There definitely was alot more money slushing around in Val, that for sure. But some wanted guaranteed ski to the door even though they were crap skiers and also good snow for their kids on the doorstep. Val will never be able to offer that consistently. Tignes was a real skiers paradise then, with no crowds, no big UK travel companies except the Blatent Liars/ Ski West and a great atmosphere at Harrys & La Poele D'Or with Andy in Le Lavachet (I can't remember the girls name?). Its the best skiing in the world imo -and I've been to most places.
Did a Biker Down first aid course. Interesting to know that they now recommend taking helmets off, the chance of spinal injuries are far outweighed by issues with airways.
Did they mention that some helmets have tabs to remove the internals to make it easier to get the helmet off? I was talking to some ambulance crew who had never heard of that
Le Lavachet, is where I stayed every visit. You certainly can;t beat Tignes and the Espace Killy for skiing both pisted and marked and the off piste. I just used to use Crystal Ski and their self catering cages in apartments sharing with anyone in a 4 bedder, I eventually had enough money to stay in Chalets always with Premier Ski, a very small Indy company. Do you remember the 2 Aussie Crystal Reps Robin and the other twins name eludes me? I only remember Scouse Andy TBH and his sidekick whose name currently eludes me Scottish bloke who passed away a few years ago in Bourg. But not the women I just don't recall at all. Didn't the D'Or become The Cavern? They seem more akin to the wild west than Tignes did on my last visit in 2024, the lift system is very much improved or it's so costly to ski that so few go these days. Some of the prices for hotels is eye watering, we dropped on lucky at £550 each catered chalet, some in the same chalet paid a lot more for something not that great. Yeah Vals mixed for snow coverage , but when I was there last it wasn't to bad, we quickly learnt which run not to come down on a snowboard. Happy Days and fond memeories Harrys was a great bar
