Questioned my sanity!! I have owned my BMW 850 V12 5.0L for 28 years but have never been on what I would call "a proper continental trip". I decided to rectify this and a few months ago I booked a trip to the Black Forest in Germany, leaving on 18th April. With a vehicle that only does 20mpg at best I knew I was being extravagant but just desperately wanted to get the desire out of my system. I was anticipating 1400 miles round trip at circa £1.50/Litre but thanks to our American friend this is now likely to be nearer £2.00/litre. OK originally I was anticipating that 1400 miles would be circa 320 litres, say £480 but now it will likely be £640. Should I just suck it up, go and enjoy it or should I possibly consider postponing? Just after a few other thoughts from a very sensible bunch of nice guys and gals.
slightly dependent on your financial situation, but I would say definitely do it – you are 70 years old? (me too) definitely do it.
If just cost I'd say go, but I think judging by the situation arond here at the moment I'd be more worried about not being able to find fuel.
Go for it, make those memories don’t wait. The war isn’t over yet despite what the orange idiot keeps regurgitating
I thought I was quite worldly wise but didn't know that a type set could reveal anything much although I often pull people when they say "Should of" instead of Should have" and "Your" instead of "You're". What makes me sad is that they don't even realise they are portraying themselves as "uneducated"
