  1. Blythe was clearly a good navigator with a fair bit of luck to survive. But he had two mutinies on his ships, plus he was deposed in Aussie by his own team when he was the Governor of NSW. He must have brought a good deal of these problems on himself.

  2. Perhaps he was not a people person.:p

  3. Feeling we'll enough to eat out, but Spain being Spain, the place where I have installed myself, doesn't start food until 9, so it will be a late'n. Tomorrow, I am going to a museum. Cultured is me. I have been in Spain a week today.

I have a ship tracking app on my phone and can track the Pont Aven on my phone. Brittany Ferries work that ship like a dog. Since bringing me here, it's been back to Plymouth and then Ireland and then France (where the crew from) and back to Plymouth. I guess they have to, as the ships must cost a bit.

  4. According to reports:

"During Bligh's voyage in the longboat, he again showed his violent and erratic temper when he flew into a rage at the carpenter William Purcell for having made a snarky comment blaming Bligh for the mutiny and grabbed a cutlass and demanded that the carpenter fight him. The sailing master John Fryer had to intervene and order Bligh's arrest in order to stop the fight, but was forced to relent when it was clear Bligh would rather die than give up command."
