Rode over the the Haynes Museum at Sparkford, there was a road safety day on at the museum. Quite a few stands - IAM, ROSPA, Air Ambulance, Police, some trade stands, various displays (best was the police dogs), assessed rides, slow riding etc. Weather was excellent, did anyone else from here go? Came home, lunch and a bit of gardening. Slapped on sun cream, sun promptly went in and I took cover in the polytunnel with the dog whilst it hammered down...oh well.
put the 1198 back together. knackered but I enjoy a good strip down. makes cleaning easier. hope my heat stuff works
Got the bike put back together and did approx 120 miles loop involving Chipping Norton and near Thame. Got slightly lost and ended up in Oxford and A40 so missed Super Sausage Lunch (if that happened). Home, quick watch of a couple of sets of the French tennis then off on the bicycle. Just back and quite happy. A couple of interesting moments where the bike lost the rear on some tightish bends, very Marquez, although perhaps not so planned. Methinks the track day did not help the wear on the tyres.
Well we've had a lovely day visiting family near Milan. I'd not seen any of them for 28 years! Tomorrow we're doing a boat trip from Como to Bellagio
I got called out to collect a special drug and deliver to a birthing unit in the New Forest, followed by two boxes of blood to Winchester. Good job done.
Neither did I until Saturday evening when I got an email from my IAM group saying they would be there with a stand. Not sure how well it was advertised. There were quite a few bikes there but it wasn't packed at midday when we left.
Went watching the bike racing at three Sisters race track today. Went to support a friend who was doing his 1st race. Then went for a ride to Southport on the 996. Got caught in a frigging downpour on the way home. So spent the next three hours cleaning it again. Just had a curry and a few beers. Good day in all.
Well, I got quite excited yesterday evening watching two foxes and a hedgehog eat cherries from under my tree. Both the foxes and the hedgehog ignored each other. Foxes are obsessed with cherries. This morning there was a fieldfare in my garden - which I have never seen at this time of year. Normally, they have all buggered off up north after the winter. But none of that would match seeing a wild bison, although for the good of my lawn, I'd just as soon that there wasn't a bison in my garden.
i would have gone, had i not been in London for the weekend. My IAM group told me about it, a good few weeks back. There was a stand at Castle Combe bike safe day, back in April, advertising it as well.
Today we have been to Bellagio on a boat trip. Beautiful day, wonderful scenery, very hot though, and of course very expensive when you get there. But we've had a great day and now we are just about to jump in the shower and dress before we head off for our wedding anniversary dinner
