  1. Ouch!

  2. EFA

  3. I don't actually drink much of this stuff. My wife does.
Not strictly true - a lot of lucky people get presents.

It's a bit like all the jam. I don't actually eat much jam, but you have to make it or the fruit is wasted and you don't want that. I just make kirsch to save the cherries from living wasted lives.

  4. excellent stuff- will it be ready in time for xmas 2014?

On a similar vein, ( well not quite), i gave away quite a few portions of courgette and parmesan soup last year ( in addition to jam). Does not quite carry the same cachet as cherry liqueur though!

  5. Well I'm finally home! I should have been here about 9.30am but because of a delay in Philadelphia I've just landed here 30 minutes ago. Bags are now unpacked. Worn clothing in the washing basket. I'm off to bed. Adios for the moment chums :)

  6. That soft cheese is renowned for delays, very difficult to run through Philadelphia easily-herb, or garlic variety?

  7. Home. Exhausted. Stayed in Langres last night. Monstered Gex to Cize N5. I love that road. Having a slipper clutch seems to help me carry so much more corner speed this time. I really needed a 14t front for some of the hairpins. The 1198 just gobbles fast sweeper though. Its planted and stable. I'd also like a little less rake on the clip ons. Plus the heat proofing measures I applied before the trip worked well. Still hot though. Was 30 yesterday.

Front of the bike looks like a Jackson Pollock.

  8. Yes, it will be ready in time for Xmas.
It's strange. When you pick up your distilled kirsch, it is in a glass container, but it isn't ready to drink. You are told to put it in a place with large temperature variation with a breathable top (something like muslin). I find this odd as the conventional wisdom in the spirits industry is that things don't improve in the bottle and that it is casks (oak) that does the purification job. I assume that if you corked it, it wouldn't improve. The nasty alcohols and esters need to evaporate off.

  12. I booked my bike in at MR for a remap; I really wanted to use CJS (and ps his email back to me with advice was brill) but he is a bit too far!

I also cleaned the chain! And washed the bike.... Ready for Scotland on Wednesday!!

  13. Nastiest case of housemaids knee I've seen in a long time.

  14. Today I have spent most of the day sat on the toilet whilst simultaneously chundering into a bucket.

    Such a fun day...

  15. This morning I caught up a lot of stuff that I'd not been able to do whilst away. Also managed to write up my reports on my meetings.

By lunchtime jet lag was kicking in and I couldn't think straight, so I came home.

This afternoon I have been catching up on some tv I've missed, had a kip, fannied about on here, done a bit more work and now I'm watching the match whilst fannying about on here.

My head still feels like it's full of cotton wool though. :(
