read about the recent crime-wave hitting Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine ) Youngsters in Holmfirth left distraught after yobs trash Halloween pumpkins - Huddersfield Examiner El Toro - have they pulled you in for questioning yet ?
Thanks DB! Do you want your underwear back, by the way? And laundered this time? I feel awkward when you ask me not to do that.
No you keep it you look much better in them I don't like the smell of your washing powder so don't feel awkward You can buy me new ones for Christmas
OK, will do but you don't like the smell of any washing powder. Just sayin' Oooh, Christmas with DB! A proper Xmas meal for a change! And filled stockings maybe
I know. I'm very proud to be contributing nothing to the economy. Mind you, if I sell some, then I could do something for GDP. But I don't think I'm allowed to - I'd need a special licence for that no doubt and have to give even more money to Bern.
Even more worrying is that my freezer is rammed. I just can't get any more stuff in it. I think I may have to take over the freezer in the kitchen at work. I've got more stewed apple and nowhere to put it. It's a squirrel time of year. Maybe the winter will indeed be harsh. I can't think we are going to get away with summer temperatures in October for free. Indeed, we should welcome a harsh winter to kill off all sorts of nasties that will have proliferated in this unseasonable weather. Quite looking forward to skiing again too. My knee seems to have unexpectedly shown a small improvement.
True. But to be honest, I'm not going there. There is a limit to my obsession with food preparation. Talking of which, I have just prepared and eaten this superb recipe for mussels with smoked haddock. A guy at work told me about it and since I have just brought home some smoked haddock from Borough Market (very difficult to find in Switzerland) I felt it was a great time to make it. Hugely recommended, it was quick to make and quite delicious (and not even particularly unhealthy).
Today I have mostly been fighting with a large dog rose. I cut the thing down yesterday in its myriad forms and spent the morning feeding it carefully into my shredder (that is one spiny bastard). In the afternoon, I went after the roots which were all over the place and which required much digging and pulling. Got most of them out and fed what can be into the shredder. The remainder is scheduled for burning in the fireplace. No good putting them on the compost heap. Guess what? Roots are happy underground and don't readily rot. I may have won the war, but I have the battle scars. At least two spines buried in my fingers somewhere, and a large spine went so deep int one finger that I am wondering if I don't need a tetanus booster. Pulled it out though (which was when I became a little alarmed at how much of it had been in my finger).
My wife has locked herself in the kitchen, after we had a big argument over how mean I've become recently. She's in there now, ripping all the plates in half
I popped into The Money Shop two doors away today, to borrow a pen. Now I have to give them 65 pens by the 21st of November
Yesterday I was in the office on my own so I managed to catch up on dross, before heading to Manchester to see #1 son and family for dinner. Today I've got a big of a frantic morning with stuff that needs doing for our Turkish project before I have to head off this afternoon to Leeds for meetings, and dinner with #2 son and family
