Some Kind Of Monster

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by Zhed46, Jul 2, 2019.

  1. Meet Carbon Carla

She started as a Monster S4, but is now this.

    Carbon 916 BST tank
Carbon Panigale Jap 4 seat unit (modified)
    Carbon front mudguard
    Carbon 916 airbox panels (modified)
    Carbon S4R radiator panels
Panigale 899 subframe (modified and can also be configured as a bobber)
    Ohlins S4RS shock
    S2R single sided swingarm
    ABM top yoke and bars
    Rizoma mirror
    Spider rear sets
LED headlight (don’t like it so no pic!)
    Airbox replaced with pods
    Full S4R exhaust system
    Battery relocated
    R&G tail tidy
    CNC clutch cover
Frame and swingarm powder coated black

It can also be configured as a bobber, but more on that later.....

The bike is very light indeed. I have compared her to a 1299R and that feels heavier.

    Next phase:
    Wacky headlight
    Digital dash
    BST carbon wheels
    Ohlins forks and radial brakes
    1198 engine?!?!?

The concept/design is by me. The engineering by Ray and Max at Ray Petty Meccanica

  5. Lovely but worried about support for silencer, or, more likely, what looks like no support.
    Is there any?

  6. :)
That’s not his house, that’s a crime scene. Can ye not see the 8 & 5 on the walls? Like those things on Silent Witness marking forensic clues. He’s a barrister don’t forget. Likes hats as well. :)

  7. All good points....

The can is welded on as the diameter of the inlet on it was much wider than the pipe. So Max machined an adapter and being the minimalist modder that I am, I didn’t want to clutter things up with a hanger, especially as there weren’t many obvious places to mount it.

Messy house. Guilty as charged. In mitigation I am mid-slow motion potential house move, so things are a bit upside down.

The 8 and the 5 are numbers stuck to the wall with a clock mechanism mounted in the middle. Most of the numbers have fallen off now though, and since the photo was taken, the clock has stopped at 5 to 5, so it’s always time for Crackerjack (Crackerjack!!!)

  8. I’ve just realised I posted the wrong pics so I replaced them. These are a bit better - different belly pan for one thing

  9. Looks a stunning bike!
