I purchased one of those Milwaukee impact guns, over £300 but pops anything off with ease. Can’t undo the wife’s purse though.
What size are the nuts for rear wheel and sprocket carrier, 55mm??? Anyone know where to get shallow impact (black) ones from ??? TIA

Clarke one from Screwfix, was about £45 ISTR. Works great but is corded mains, not cordless. Not really a problem for occasional use, in fact a cordless one wouldn't get enough use and probably be flat when I needed it. Can't see it on their website currently though.
You may not quite understand the reason for the specified torque value on a nut like this but what you're suggesting would be very poor mechanical practice. The spec torque is only 170 ft lbs, that's like 85 pounds on the end of a 24 inch breaker bar. If you can't achieve that probably best to not remove it in the first place.
I'd have provided a link to an impact socket, but you might struggle to find one in a 12-point design.

All sorted. Impact socket also ordered, just debating wich impact wrench to go for, for next time needed.
@Broduc64 Mate you have an after market sprocket carrier, the item you may think is the carrier is actually the sprocket flange. edit: TBH I would seriously reconsider letting this *cough* mechanic anywhere near your mutley!
Ok guys, I take your word for it, must've been previous owner. Not looked at a stock one for comparison. So, are you saying I could've undone the six bolts holding the carrier and sprocket and removed it over the large nut ?!?
