Ok thank you,so 5 series. And was there any difference between them apart from series 1 who had the akront wheels? Henk!!!
the early series had the akront wheels as you say, but other than that colour changes only. The later series got the No.1 on the tail piece. It was never a big change hence never selling very well over the SS, you paid 1500 more for the bike but other than some bits, it was never the difference between say an 888 strada vs an SP5. Serie III onward got the yellow, with IV I think, having the No.1 and 'campione del mondo superbike' on the tail. This coupled with the production run not really being limited in the same way as the SP/SPS bikes - but really just limited in so far that dealers got one shot at ordering for the new model year and then the production target could be set at the factory (probably to gear up for manufacture of the single seat and carbon parts).
MK 2's didn't get the full floaters on the front as far as differences go and think they missed out on the carbon clutch cover.
I had one years ago, but I must have been more bendy back then! Coming from a multi has just spoiled me. I’ll have to re-learn!
@Carr01 Trust me you can get back into it as i did with the 916 after running just the buell for twelve odd years,alien at first but just like riding a bicycle in the end.
