Ss Owners: What Other Bikes Do You Ride?

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by ck_uk, Mar 22, 2017.

  1. An M600 Monster that I absolutely love (just brings a smile to my face every time I ride it) and a 1959 Ducati 175TS single (when I eventually finish restoring it!).

  2. I now ride a Harley XL883L - that's not because I got fed up with Ducatis, but I couldn't risk moving my SS without the risk of dropping it - even though it was light, with a full tank and low down clip ons, I felt I was in trouble every time I tried to get it out my workshop and at junctions and traffic lights (all to do with illness, I hasten to add - otherwise I would be on a ZZR1100).

  3. Be well worth fitting a lithium battery if you haven't already, as you know the battery is pretty much the highest point on the these bikes and the standard lead one is almost 5Kgs vs less than 1Kg for a lithium battery, makes a huge difference when moving the bike around, more than the weight loss would suggest. Easy to test - just take the lead battery out completely and see how the bike feels to push/move around.

  9. I borrowed a sport 1200inj (mightve been 1100?) for a day. Loved it.

  10. Drop a set of 1200 jugs and pistons on this, some decent cams a mikuni carb and a decent set of pipes and this will shift quite nicely - and the 883 kitted to 1200 are quicker than the factory 1200 - smaller ports and higher intake velocity

  11. Actually it is fuel injected and has Vance & Hines pipes on it - apart from being much louder than the SS, because of the low down torque, it seems to accelerate a lot quicker than the SS (up to about 30mph!) - so I'm happy with it (at the moment).

  12. Got an 03 Fireblade, which I purchased this year after wanting one since they were first released 5E08EA0D-1A4F-47CD-9157-504A6B2BA445.jpeg

Also got a Husqvarna SM610R supermoto, which is an absolute beast...totally unsuitable as a road bike but I love giving superbikes a run for their money through the twisty stuff!

  13. Some nasty bit of pond scum nicked my CRF250L. What made it worse, I was lending it to my son because he had had his MT-07 half-inched as well. This situation is getting intolerable.
Anyway, with a CRF 250L-sized hole in my garage, I decided to fill it with a nice red Laverda 750SF2 to keep the Duc and the MV company.

  17. Hey John B, your tiger looks like its prowling in deepest wiltshire?

Just had some fun changing the styling of my Dragster to make an Agostini Special.
