When I first got mine cold starts were a nightmare with an on/off clutch action and difficult to select neutral until it had done a mile or so to warm the oil up a bit. After a few thousand miles it is now generally no problem but can still be a bit snatchy at cold starts. My "fix" is to engage 1st then give the throttle a couple of blips before releasing the clutch. This seems to free off the plates allowing an easier take off.
