Around 2mins on the full circuit ain't nothing to be ashamed of bradders, I'd be well chuffed with that.
This is what chasing sports bikes does when you have sticky tyres.... And another set of new boots wrecked...
Ps if anyone is doing a track day junk the scorpions they are crap at high lean (actually they won't manage high lean)
At what point does "lean" start becoming a "high lean"? Im on scorpions and have a track day coming up :anguished::anguished:
If you are pottering around the scorpions are fine , though it is easy to run to the edge of the tyre , they don't have the same profile as the road tyres. nice pics bradders , surprised you didn't take the main stand off ! Even on your tippy toes your boots still touch down
I have also managed to grind the pegs on the scorpions and would consider that in the "lean" category!?
likely camber affects that, roundabouts and some fast corners have adverse and can makle things grind easy
well, off the front entirely no chicken strips at all is what I'd consider high lean. The rear is easy (within 50 miles of picking up brand new bike I was off the rear, ask @Pete1950 ) Or, as they are now, high profile supercorsas off the rear no strips. And only at low speed...centrifugal should take care of the fast stuff The rear just cant cope IME. Its the same with something like sports tourung bridgestones on a sports bike: run out of grip at high lean. Note that the stand is nowhere near down at those angles on scorpions, it took high-grip rubber and a bit of camber through shell and island to drop the stand. Its tucked away quite well. BTW I am not saying I'm some kind of hero (as the guy at Donington said I must think I am) simply that at tail end fast group or front inters pace the scorpions lack a lot of grip. My vids tell me on scorpions I was doing 2'15-2'11 and on SCs I was doing 2'10-2'07 and I know I was going quite a bit quicker the next day too. Its all about grip
Within 10 miles, more like. The releasing compound had not yet been rubbed off the brand new tyres on your brand new DVT before you were cranked well over. I was hanging back and giving you a wide berth in case you overcooked it.
I'm running Maxxis Diamonds at the mo. Very steep profile so it's on its ear as soon as you think out tipping in. So good for 1/2 the ££ of others, I'm getting another pair. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Did you manage to improve the ground clearance playing with the suspension or would it need a spring change ? And what Supercorsas did you use ? I'm thinking of doing a track day although I said I wouldn't, and mine makes shapes in sport mode on the road so I'm thinking it's going to be pretty loose when it's pushed on decent rubber.
Yes I added loads of preload, but be careful because I think too much helped me have an incident at Donington the other week You are right tho, add some really sticky rubber and you can properly push on, and yes it does get out ouf shape! You can see on my vids at Oulton going up clay hill (??) over the crest where the front and rear go light it becomes unstable, although suspension copes pretty well. And thru the last turn onto the straight it would shake like mental. But again nothing scary just fun One big noticable difference on sticky rubber was onder heavy braking it would snake, bit worrying to start as its a heavy bike, but after a rew laps mega I did wear a boot out tho, even on my toes on pegs. But if you can get your knee down on bikes, you will easliy get your knee down on the multi Oh and take your centre stand off, it is ok at peg scraping lean angle until you get a funny camber like shell oils. Then it scrapes...check my pics. Hth. Oh and go fo it!
