Loose speaker wire? Does seem like it’s worth trying to trace the wires from at least one speaker all the way back if you can. Establish that line of connection although one suspects the bit you’ve found -the amp-may be the/a missing link.
Given up. Had a large bacon roll, now watching snooker then will go and clean all the inside up, put all the trim back so it just has the hole for the stereo. Going to tax from 1st, so looks like my stereo will be engine and road noise (or knobhead BT headphones with my phone ) until I can find someone to sort it
Seeing that nokia box reminded me of the cheap bluetooth kits Halfords used to do around 2004/5ish . The speakers went into the phone module box then onward to the stereo so when the phone was in use, the sound came through the speakers, there used to be a little microphone too roughly near the screen as near to your head too. I'm wondering if your mobile phone box is the issue? Does it look like the speakers have been plugged into the nokia box and if yes, have you tried unplugging them to then go to the standard connectors you now have? Ignoring all of that ^ does this help? https://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/16886-amplifier-wiring-diagram-for-nokia-6-x-40-watt-oem/ https://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/3389-pinout-for-6x40-m490-amp/
I’ve searched loads and seen them, thanks. The adapter I have seems to fit the right ‘sound out’ bits but doesn’t work.
Here is another one that my be of use. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=48&t=246604
I would say the options you have are, Try getting a replacement amp ,they are cheap on ebay Guess your new unit has a internal amp, if so run new speaker cables to the head unit and bypass the amp. You should have a switching wire (normally blue) coming out of the rear of your new unit, this wire is the one that switches on external sources (ie a amp) this wire may well have a piggyback connector,if its not connected plug it in. You may have been supplied with a harness not suitable for the amp(is the amp a optional extra ?)here is one with a amp by pass adaptor. https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/con...-boxster-active-system-amplifier-adaptor.html By money would be on buying the new harness Or get a auto electrician.
There is a blue wire with a bullet connector on the adapter which sounds like it needs too be connected. Already decided to get a pro to sort it. They I'm sure can use what I have and make it work.
I have a couple of other things to get them to do too like heating rear screen and clear out that wiring!
Update on this. Connect2, the harness provider, have confirmed the blue wire needs 12v power to use the amp. So I think I may dry run test with a bike battery hooked direct to the connector, and if it powers up have another go at fitting. Thanks to whoever noticed this, really helpful
