  2. thats a very important notion indeed, thats why the sticky request, but so far : unamused:

  3. I have a 1260 with 2600 miles it’s used a little oil topped up by my dealer, nothing excessive, apparently it’s fairly common practice to overfill the dvts.

  5. My 1260S (August 2018) did use some oil, around 300cc in 3000Km's
Nothing to worry about I think, it is still breaking in (I hope)
Actual odo at this moment is 4600Km.

  6. I voted, mine was a 15 plate dvt and the problem was solved with new rings and pistons I believe under warranty, I have never had to add oil since.

  7. Mine used up to 0.5l/1000km. Was fixed under warranty. Changed pistons, cylinders, valve seals and exhaust valves.
Never had to top up oil in the 27000km since the repair.

  8. after how many years did they fix your under warranty? extended warranty I assume?

    2015 model too?

  9. Early 2016 model, I took delivery in Aug/sept 2015.
No extended warranty, it used oil from new.
I live in Norway, so the bike was fixed during winter 2016/2017, when I don`t use the bike. It had then done 20000km.

  10. 1260 here, my bike used some oil this season, but I don't know exactly how much; it didn't seem excessive so I didn't vote. I'll keep more accurate records in 2019.

  11. after 27K kilomters and more than 6 years ow ownership this 'issue' isnt that big anymore

do these engines settle down the more they get ridden and after time?

  12. Someone once mentioned that the DVT engine does not like being full to the brim with oil and will settle down with consumption and not use any oil when left at about half full. Don’t know if there is any truth in this as I keep mine topped up to the brim.
