Stm Slipper Clutch Spider Spring

  1. They're from the US , I've had it from new on the original spring for 11 years so not needed one before now, Yoyodyne don't advertise them any more so think it'll be easier getting an EVR/STM Andy & Nelson pointed out the Kupplungens above might fit. I've also got the headache as I'm fitting it to the 1098 lump the clutch shaft nut is larger than the earlier bikes (can't remember the size offhand) so I need a stepped nut/washer of the correct size which may mean I need a different Spring with a larger ID. I'll probably contact HM and see if I can get to the bottom of it, all it really takes is for these bloody companies to supply part numbers and accurate drawings they just don't seem to exist in this industry

  2. STM the parts numbers are stamped on each component! Never seen that before.

Tried to order a Kerflumpen last night but it's not that easy as my German is a bit lacking.

  3. 4 now sold....:upyeah:

  4. Yoyodyne comes from the old film "Buckaroo Bonzai Across the 8th dimension" Yoyodyne Propulsion systems was the name for the defence contractor which was a front for the aliens...great film - I have a 1080p remaster at home....I gather it now has cult status...I just had to say...

I have the original yoyodyne propulsion systems logo slapped on the side of my supermoto...

  5. Make that 5 :)

  6. Boom!

  7. OK, arrived today, VERY similar and appears to fit but is slightly "higher", if that makes sense when on its feet..

I've read elsewhere you can get different strength of spring to adjust the amount of slip of the clutch. I'm assuming as long as it fits OK worse case is it slips a bit more or less?????

  8. Not to hijack the thread but can anyone suggest why mines "a bit grabby?" - Rich fitted it on Saturday (top bloke) - everything went ok with the install -stack height was good but as Harryscfc said "its a bit grabby - that's why I took it out..." - ive read that lithium grease stops it but assuming that could be an old wives tale (ive got some on order to try) are there any other suggestions??

I didn't want to harass Rich as he's busy enough as it is...

  12. Yeah, means nothing to me either. Best of luck.

  13. The first paragraph made sense.... Essentially "you're just going to have to fuck around with it..." although rich said the stack height was perfect at 37mm so I don't see what I can do with regards to the stack height hence the lithium grease angle.... Thanks all the same,.

  15. You could try running 4 springs until the plates wear in a bit.
