  1. Morris Minor reg xub 911, stolen in the manchester area. i know it's not a ducati, but feel gutted for the old chap who it belongs to.
Has owned it for fourty odd years. I think it was grey. keep em peeled. :upyeah:

  2. Some people . I hope they get it back safe and sound. My guess is there are lots of memories with that car

  3. I don't get it, why steal a morris minor? It's likely to be a cherished car, and not worth a huge amount financially so its a small return for the theif, and a massive loss for the victim.

The only thing I can think of is that it was a lazy opportunistic thief, as its likely to have been very easy to steal. I can only sugest looking locally, if its been joy ridden its probably not gone far.

    Scumbags

  4. It's not much help or comfort, but a guy off the LC forum had a Mk1 escort stolen and the police found it in a lock up 18 months later. He was very lucky, it was off the road and not insured when it was stolen!

  5. Stolen to order for Moggie parts?

  6. The reg number is probably worth a bit. Make sure he retains the plate if the car doesn't come back.

  7. Can only have been stolen for parts i guess, they are worth quite a bit these days, the reg number can't be transferred from a stolen vehicle. he needs to be onto whatever minor owners web sites there are & get it known, check flea bay as well.

  8. This made it onto the radio. Heard about it on radio 2 the day it came out. The old man is gutted. What a bunch of tossers!

  9. Morris minors are quite cult cars.
If its unmolested its worth money .
    Easy to steel.
Sadly probably like many bikes stolen to order :(
    Disgusting :( poor chap :(

  10. Sadly, classic vehicle theft is not uncommon. The parts are worth a bomb and they're a piece of cake to steal usually.

  11. I meant that the thief can't use the reg number

  13. The plod finding the BM isn't lucky I'd say. It solved your dilemma of which bike to keep! Did you get the thing back then?

  14. The thing never left. So I dont fully understand your point.

  15. So the BeeeeEmmmmm was so crap the thieving gits threw it away?

  16. It was too manly and too heavy unlike the Italian lightweights lol. Any way after a 200 mile round trip on one fuel tank it was only fair it came home!

  17. I know they can't but if the car gets listed as stolen and he sends the logbook back for the dvla to delete from the records, the reg number gets deleted too. The owner needs to fill out the appropriate forms to retain it.
