Getting stressed now, after some pain, I managed to get the coil packs out and swap them over, still got 10.2 error code . Don't know what to try next other than take it to Ducati so they can relieve me of yet more cash. Not even 3 months out of warranty
That would suggest it may be a coil driver issue with the ECU. The coils appear to be OK as the fault has not switched cylinders. If you pick up the p&p I can loan you an ECU to try in your bike to see if the fault goes. A second hand ECU and reflash could then sort it.
Chris, That is very generous of you. I will have one last fiddle tomorrow and check the connectors etc one last time first. Thank you very much Regards, Martin
So, thanks to the most helpful person I've never met (Chrisw), my bike is working again, the sun came out and I've been for a 2 hour test ride. Cheers Chris
Haha, nope no pickled vegetables, just extremely helpful and gone beyond the call of duty to help me, who he has never met.
Yes, The diagnosis of coil driver in ECU sounds spot on. Loaned ECU sorted it and the additional help from Chris to sort a permanent and low cost solution has been superb.
I also installed the ecu that Chris has sorted for me and after a little fiddling, and connecting a laptop to the bike to reset the tps, (whatever happened to spanners), it appears fine. Very smooth, no popping and banging on over run and eerily a lot quieter than it was. Thanks again to chrisw, I am back on the road and happy
