I currently ride a Yamaha Vmax 1700 Carbon (very rare bike) and ive done 12k on it in 4 years - i love the bike however it juicy 30mpg and totally impractical as only does about 90 miles to a tank and i get fed up with filling it up twice every ride out i do.
2 years ago i made the decision to get a second bike that i can ride all the time and to stop me putting the miles on the Vmax - so i bought a Bking and didnt get on with that so i bought a MT10SP and loved it until i fell in love with the new Diavel 1260s so i part exchanged it for my first Ducati - well that was a horror show as after 20 days of ownership and 1600 miles it went back to the dealer with a knackered engine and i got a refund so to tide me over i went out in August last year and bought another brand new MT10SP (got a cracking deal with loads of accessories ) for £13000 and for the rest of the year rode that and did 3k in the end. I then have sold the bike in December and got £12200 for it so i did well all in anticipation of buying a BMW S1000XR which i have left a £100 refundable deposit on (bike due in late May)

Now i here you ask

although i had a bad experience with my last Ducati i feel i would like to have another go if you get my drift as they make some stunning looking bikes i think you will agree.

So im currently sorting out a advert as its time to say goodbye to the Vmax - it was a dream bike for me to own and i know i will regret it but it make no sense for it to just sit in the corner of the garage now, and thinking of another V4 this time the Streetfighter - id looked at the Aprillia v4 Factory but think the pegs are too high and dont really like the styling at the front - then as i need some sort of tourer i can buy a XR next year ready for the trips as im sure this year will be difficult due to Covid 19.
My wife works in the travel industry and has predicted once we come out of lockdown holiday prices will be high so it makes sense to me to wait.

Talking of the Streetfighter - the looks are marmite - the only thing i dont like is the dash surround as when i looked at it at the NEC it felt cheap but there is a carbon surround for it so easily sorted.
Ive had a brief discussion via email with a dealer who has agreed to a £600 accessories discount and the availability is June/July but ive not had anymore contact with them (ive bought from them before hence the discount)
Does anyone think in the current climate that Bike manufacturers will reduce prices/offer cheaper finance/bundle accessories in order to shift bikes ?

So question is to by now and pay £19700 for SFV4s or wait till later in year for a used one as i know in a years time it will only cost about 16 -17k still a lot of money though

I’d wait a bit and get a used or Ex demo one and extend the warranty.

bad luck with your diavel. I’ve had 3 ducatis and never had a single issue with any of them
