  1. Yep, plus one for Dubcat ^^
if you’re waking up in the middle of the night thinking about work, then can’t go back to sleep, get up, go to the kitchen, make a cup of tea, write down all the things that are in your head so as to get them out of your head, then you can forget about them and get back to sleep.

Also, I found this to be a very helpful book.

  2. tired twat

  3. Ronnie O'Sullivan had/has a lot of demons. I read an article on him and he said without doubt the best therapy for him was exercise. He'd seen every shrink in the land and had been on all kinds of medication but said when he discovered running all his mental shit melted away.

Not suggesting we should all turn into elite triathletes, but getting the ticker pumping a wee bit each day through exercise should help. Definitely helps me :):upyeah:

  9. At 5:30 i finish. I dont think about work till 9.01am after I've had my toast n coffee. Mon-Fri.

Dont take work home with you. You dont get paid and no-one gives you any thanks for it anyways.

I despise my job. I have to deal with idiot architects. A bunch of half arsed pompous fuckwits who couldnt draw a straightline with the aid of a computer let alone a ruler. Plus they all have an overinflated sense of their own self importance. Theyre not. Theyre inept.

  10. Clearly not.
    FFS - It's doesn't follow that if you're 'fat' you get stressed/depressed....
However, it is a fact that exercise does help relieve the symptoms of stress and depression. Release of endorphins and dopamine, as well as a feeling of accomplishment or even control of a small part of your environment/life/daily routine.

  13. I read somewhere that being in the wrong job is as stressful as a divorce

Whatever is stressing you needs to go nothing is worth stressing over
You can’t please everyone when your glass is empty it has to be full to do that
All your doing is using energy that’s not there

Alcohol isn’t the answer as you know, you might feel good after it but the issues are still there

    I found mindfulness very helpful
It’s suggested that you spend 10 mins in nature twice a day
As a feed back to the course it’s not something that you can do always on your own while you can’t commit to anything

I think you might need a bit more than we can give you

  18. I've always promised myself I wouldn't work in a job I wasn't enjoying so I became pretty much unemployable hence having my own businesses.
They cause me stress every now and then but it's under my control which never seems as bad.

Can you go contracting/self employed that worked for me when I was younger?

  19. You sound stressed mate.

  20. And yet the suggestions all seem to be ‘exercise’. It can be good for some. For others, it can make stuff worse.

If you are feeling lonely, generally not-worthy or depressed at how tough life can be, walking for hours on end on your own with your own thoughts isn’t always, or often, the best way to get away from them. It can deepen the feelings and create further anxiety.

Stress, like addiction, seems to need distraction. That is, replace one thought for another. For some that’s talking, others it can be running. Some see no way out at all ‘keep calm and carry on’

Just saying ‘eat healthily and do more exercise ‘ isn’t advice imho which is why I posted above
