Tank bag wanted!

  1. Kriega bum bag, waterproof, fits like a bumbag should and when your wandering around off th bike it sits round your waist unlike a tank bag which will make you look like a limp waisted Frenchy with a man bag.

  2. I have exactly what you are looking for (but unfortunately not for sale). It is a small magnetic bag which will take simultaneously a wallet. an iPhone, a packet of fags. It will also do sunglasses just about (so long as they are not those huge stupid ones now favoured by GP racers on the grid). The tank on the 999 (and I am prepared to bet, the 749) is not alloy but basic steel and the bag sticks to it perfectly. I have made mine more stratch-resistant by gluing on a couple of neoprene pads (go and find a wetsuit shop) to protect the paint. I use mine all the time, as there is no way I can get that gubbins in my leathers and I don't want a bumbag or rucksack.

The bag moves not a jot, even under enthusiastic cornering and autobahn speeds. In use, you never notice it is there, even when you are "on it".

OK, so who makes it? Good question. It might be a Hein Gericke, and it might be a no-name brand. I've had it for years now. Brilliant thing.
Can take a photo can check for a name later when I get home if you like.

But rest assured, the small rectangular magnetic bag exists.

You can just about see it in the photo in my album of a 999 in rainy Scotland.

  3. I use a Givi Tank Harness with a small Givi bag clipped to it.Easy to take on and off and easy to re fuel by releasing two clips.Bag will take phone or sat nav in clear cover compartment on top plus a small bottle of water and glasses under.Small zip pocket at back for money, etc.

  4. I think this is what you want. It's very similar to mine and mine may well be a Held:

    Held Biker Fashion - Tiny

Don't worry about the carry strap. It comes off. The bag describes itself as magnetic (which wouldn't be a lot of use if you just wore it as a bum bag...)

  5. That held biker one looks good, I'll try and find it on an English site.

    Many thanks for your replies

    Edit: Purchased! Thanks very much
