Termignoni Pipe

  1. Evening all just picked my new to me xdiavel up today which is fitted with a Termignoni pipe ( 1 exit each side) loads of paper work but nothing about pipe being fitted except an invoice for ducati up load map from a ducati dealer. Is this the best to run with or should i get it mapped on a dyno. Also in the ducati wallet there is a black plastic sort of memory stick thing with a code on it anyone know what this might be.
    Many thanks

  2. I'd get a custom map regardless. As a type-approved part the Termi system when dealer fitted comes with a Euro 5 compliant map which leans it out to hell in the midrange and at middling throttle openings, which is where you ride most of the time. You'll only feel a performance benefit at high revs and big throttle openings. It will run perfectly safely with the factory upload map but it will be utterly strangled and actually feel down on torque compared to the OE catted pipe. Getting it custom mapped to correct all that bullshit will transform it. It's worth every penny. And as you're in Exeter You're handy for CJS at Bristol. Get it booked in ASAP would be my advice.
Also check if it has a "for race use only" notice etched onto the tail pipe, usually on the inside of the left-hand outlet. That's an MOT fail at any punctilious test station. Remove it with fine emery cloth and the MOT problem goes away.
