Riding a Desmo when all of a sudden It starts to rain and you realise the bridgestones are not the best for the job.
My Yam was an RD350B............ Six speed etc....so your YDS7 may not have been quite so quick against it....... .......that is, if I could stop mine from wiggling like hell every time I changed up a gear at high revs......... .................of course, that may been because my flares were flapping...... Mine seemed to do 18 miles per piston (or reed valve).
Only been riding for 8 years so I've not experienced the older bonkers material mentioned on here... however from my limited experience my ZX10R (C2H) was a wicked, wicked ride!! unprovoked wheelies at 120mph and a very shaky head... but a brilliant bike to ride, a proper bike some would say and tbh the only bike I've had that I'd buy back in a shot...(if I had the cash)..
A Yamaha YZ465 moto crosser. We had a mutual loathing of each other. I know it hated me because it spat me off at every opportunity. And I hated it because...it spat me off at every opportunity. In fact everyone hated it...horse riders,(noise)...walkers,(noise and pollution)...my mates,(noise, pollution and having to hear me moan about the bloody thing all the time)...apart from warp speed acceleration,it didn't have one good thing going for it. Didn't stop me green laning it around Beds and Herts with an old RD250 number plate nailed to it ,(I removed the 465 side panel decals and replaced them with those peeled off the the RD,that would have fooled the old bill I'm sure). Had to go round the route dumping full fuel cans the night before any trail rides though,we were all on big strokers so fuel supply was an issue. Haven't given that bike a thought for years ,it was that bad...but I had some good times on it. Aww...bloody hell, now I want another one...where's last months Classic Bike?...
Yamaha FZ8, only ever had it as long term loaner. It snaked and slipped on motorways and dual carriageways. It got to the point where the dealer used to laugh when handing it over and say you've got "Eleanor" (Think gone in 60 seconds) again. No other bike has tried to have me off as much!
Bellbottoms story: I pulled into a garage forecourt on my Kh250 and when I went to put my feet down both trouser legs caught the foot pegs so my feet didn't reach the ground. I panicked and just kept pushing trying to force my to the ground until I just fell over. I kicked the bike off me, picked it up and rode off with the glow of my red face lighting up my helmet.
