  1. Has the rain still stopped El T?

  2. For the time being its stopped but its expected to start heavy again around midnight I think

  3. FFS! :frown:

  4. Been pouring here most of the day
Sun did pop out for half hour
Its very crisp here now maybe a frost!!

  5. hope it subsides ET, that ain't no trickle is it..

  6. Not good : hope is stops raining there for you ;-(

been poring down here all day as well but not that bad but it has lasted 24 hours.

  7. Think I owe you a bit of an apology El T. I think my banterish remarks are a bit ill-placed in what must be a worrying situation for you.

Really hope your river subsides before any harm is done.

There's a time for levity (most of it, actually), but I don't think this is one of them.

    Sorry.

  8. I lived in the country for 8 years
It was accessed by a lane 3/4 mile long and it flooded the whole of it.
Luckily the house was a crossing keepers cottage and built up on a hill so the house never flooded
Had to move into town when it hit as I couldnt get out :-(

  9. Tel , the water tight business plan is fecked for sure now ???? Lol

  10. Glid, no need to apologise. Unlike some on here I do have a sense of humour and don't take things too literally. The place would be a washout (see what I did there?) if we all did that.

This is just the internetz. You've not hurt me physically or mentally

  11. Best make it bullet proof then

  12. Just been out to take a look at the level of the stream. It must have eased off a bit during the night as the level is now about 3'-4'

However it's still flowing very quickly and its forecast to rain all day again :frown:

May still need the sand bags out before the end of the day :frown:

  13. I think I'd have got them out already!

  14. Still moist here but not lashing down at the moment. I'll nip home at lunch time to check on things

  15. It was ok at lunchtime but its rained non stop since about 10am. It's due to ease off again later this evening which will help but its forecast to to lash it down again all tomorrow :-/

  16. Man I want to say sorry too, saw some of the TV today and crap I had no idea how hard it's been raining, down my way the river comes up all the time after a good rain session so I kind of just dismissed it with banter but no joke what's been going on, what's it like now?

  17. It's high again and it's still raining. Forecaster this evening said it should ease round 1am. If it does then the water level will drop to an ok level.

I've just been a bit more on edge this time as a couple of months ago the retaining wall under the decking, down to the stream, collapsed and its just been rebuilt. The insurance company wouldn't take kindly to another claim so soon (we've never claimed for anything before that).

edit: according to the local news/weather programme we've had two months rainfall in 24hours. And I bet there's still a hose pipe ban

  18. Fingers crossed then mate for some dry days, it's been a funny old year and VERY wet seems like its set to carry on being wet!

  19. Thanks for your concern and kind words. Where we live is beautiful and the garden with the stream at the bottom is gorgeous when the suns out. But when it's like this its a real PIA.

  20. I really do hope it's all ok mate, that's the problem with natures beauty it can turn ugly from time to time...
