Another spanner in the works: I just called my local bike shop with a view to ordering a 14 tooth sprocket and was asked why I wanted to change it so explained. His advice was that it won't make any difference to driving in traffic. He said it was as simple as "if you want more acceleration then drop a tooth and if you want more top end then add a tooth" he reckoned I would still be doing a lot of clutching in 2nd gear irrespective of the sprocket size. These bikes are just not made for sub 30mph traffic.
I appreciate that a lot of your guys are still working but I had hoped for a little more input into this matter.
Try the 14t. It does work for most. Once you are a whole lot more used to your bike, most of this concern will evaporate as your riding style adjusts. I wonder how much experience of Ducatis your local bike shop has, compared to the many forum members here?
