Well I might have to steal that idea...:biggrin: Have you seen the fake carbon vinyl thats about these days? Look like real carbon from a short distance but you can tell when you look very close. Comes in a Matt/satin finish and actually looks good. The first time I saw it was last year on an R1 and they had wrapped the fairings. Maybe a good way of "faking" carbon panels where the text is revealed in carbon - Lacquer over it all. That, or maybe a good way of covering up that horrible primer if your unlucky enough to have a yellow one :tongue:
Yeah I've used it, but not on a bike....well not for wrapping, but I have done decals. I made a full set of 3D carbon effect decals for my 848, but can't decide if I should put them on. I'll dig a picture out of them.... Chrisw has some on his 999 that I cut from 3m 3d vinyl that he sent me, he might pop his pictures up, I have the pics and they look great on, but I wouldn't put his pics up. Anth
I have them on my 1098s looks fantastic but I would say that wooded eye. Bought mine used off Ducatisti very good quality. The CF just brakes up the solid red look. I like mine looking different to all the other Ducs when you meet up. Regards Steve
Just rang Rich from RLA, nice chap! Really nice chap haha. Sadly, he has only got the matt finish in, not the gloss, he said they will be in stock in around 3-4 weeks Too long for me sadly. However, I might pinch off a few other items from him, asked me to send a quote through for 3 other parts haha. Damn carbon fibre, it's an addiction.
No, but I couldn't be ars*d with fleebay, and needed the space. They do bring a few quid it your prepared to wait n push them. Rich is usually helpful, even just for info on stuff, the stuff I have seen from him is quite good, as I said my under tray is from him and he sent me loads of pictures of the fixing lugs when I asked him about it. Shame he's not got them in. Yeah, I know all about the addiction....I don't think I have any black plastic left.
I cannot, for the life of me find any decent sellers with the gloss finish single or 2 peice bellies in carbon fibre for <£300 Looks like I will be waiting.
