  12. Just tripped over another suspense-destroying, plot-obliterating cliché which absolutely drives me incandescent.

    I have you covered with a gun. This gun is effective for at least fifty metres; at three metres, I could probably close my eyes and still hit you. But no, I am going to approach within a metre of you because, oh, I don't know, the script never explained that to me. And despite the fact I am looking straight at you, I missed the physical cues that tell me that you are about to strike out at me and have now allowed you to disarm me.
    I know! I had a ranged weapon but I insisted upon giving up that advantage in order to allow you to engage me physically.


    FFS! So fucking annoying!
