Make sure you run the lock wire the right way and don't over twist the wire. Final thing, when you clip off the ends fold the remaining twisted wire around so it does not leave a sharp end. Safety Wire Techniques - AVweb Features Article
Definatley,you just have to be patient and make sure you keep some tension on the wire to get a consitant twist. Lockwire is cheap, so practice a little first. The auto pliers are great when you are doing a lot.
Any use? Lockwire so that each bolt is being pulled in the direction of tightening..... I couldn't find my lockwire pliers so I did these with a small hand drill into which I stuffed the ends of the wire and pulled on the drill while turning which gives a nice tight twist. Unfortunately this one went a tiny bit slack as I turned the sharp ends into the socket cap, but it's enough to stop the bolts from coming undone.
I would prefer the shank to be the same thickness as the OEM ones....calipers may not sit quite proper otherwise (ie slightly rotated) but it probably doesn't matter.

Will I need a plastic sleeve to go around the lock wire as I wouldn't want the caliper to get marked.
