Yes it's ridiculous, yes it largely follows the same format and no it doesn't appeal to everyone, but faced with the alternative wave/durge of imported American sitcoms, drama or the multitude of other shite passing off as entertainment, I'm not so sure it's that bad. As others have said, if it doesn't float your boat, go watch or do something else. I've no problem in people having opinions either but TV is, like many other things, highly subjective. Faced with all the other crap on TV tonight, I could think of far more tedious things to watch. If they are 22 series in and the BBC are selling the rights to it worldwide then they must be doing something right.
